Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former number one, has endured a challenging season, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is his first championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court after that period of that year.

Success also indicates the Russian has secured 21 championships at 21 different competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my children together, so to secure a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

His counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to question if his ability to play at the elite level was finished.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an improved service.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.

Both players traded break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to push for a final set.

The opponent defended 4 initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the Russian won the break to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, he clinched victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
